I have three donor conceived (sperm) kids. I’m in a hereto couple with male factor infertility. We have been open with our kids since the beginning and found some books to read with them on donor conception/infertility. We talk about the donor most days, usually a few times a week and try to let it come up naturally in conversation. My oldest is 6. I identify with all the feelings Ellie is having. We used the same donor for all three, but my youngest has the strongest resemblance to him. His hair and skin are noticeably darker than my older two, and we get a lot of comments on it. We have told the family and friends closest to us, but extended family doesn’t know. Mainly because it is not their business. I am prepared for my kids to tell whomever they please. It is their story. Thanks so much for this podcast! Good luck to Ellie! I’m sure she will figure it out just fine. She’s on the right track. 😊
